Onlangs, Civan Lasers, an Israeli leverancier of high-power lasers, announced that the company has successfully developed a 500W single-mode continuous wave (SMCW) 532nm green laser, setting a world record for this type of laser.
The green laser was developed as part of the EUREKA project "CBC-Green", led by Fraunhofer IWS, Siemens and ThyssenKrupp, which aims to create and realize high-power laser beams for more flexible and efficient processing of koper materials.
How doet het werk? Wat zijn de voordelen?
The 500W single mode continuous wave 532nm laser maakt Coherent Beam Combining (CBC) technology, which combines multiple single mode laser beams into a single coherent beam with superior beam quality.
Met Coherent Beam Combining (CBC) technology, Civan Lasers' systems are able to achieve high brightness without the risk of schade the laser crystals (as would be the case if higher laser powers were used to increase brightness), preserving the spectral characteristics of the beam and ensuring longling, reliable performance over time.
It is this CBC technology that enables lasers to use high quality, high power beams to improve process efficiency and performance in materials processing, while providing power modulation. This is a significant advancement considering that 532nm lasers typisch require stable crystal temperatures - a capability that has the potential to break through the current limitations of copper processing. Deze beperking is te wijten aan hoge reflectiviteit (groen lasers tentoonstelling meer absorptie in materialen vergeleken tot infrarood fiber laser straling). Dit Zal Hulp Industrie Aan Beter Proces Koper Componenten Dat Zijn Key To Producing Energy Storage Systems, Power Electronics, Controls and necessary Cooling Structures.
Wat's volgende?
While the development of a green light single mode continu wave laser is still underway, Civan Lasers has already mentioned its intentions to make further progress, and these plans build on a range of different material processing applications.
Future development plans include halving the size of the laser, significant reducing its cost, increasing its power capability and introducing a dynamic beam in the green laser - ultimately differentiating it from its its market competitors.
